El Mesón Ibérico

Chef

Head Waiter

Founded at the end of the 90s by Pepe Luis Zorrilla, who has sadly left us, Mesón Ibérico is one of the favourite places of the Malagueños at the time of tapas, or even for a more substantial meal, thanks to the great product they offer, and to which they give all the prominence with impeccable and simple preparations of a lifetime, served at the bar, at high tables or in the small dining room with a more formal atmosphere.

To start with, nothing better than their magnificent acorn-fed Iberian cured meats, such as ham, chorizo or salchichón, one of the best I have ever tasted. We also recommend the Iberian pork rinds or the Joselito Iberian ‘coppa’.

The ‘marisquito’ is another great option: prawns, shrimps, langoustines, clams… As well as the impeccable fried food, such as fried prawns, anchovies, red mullet… They also have exquisite portions such as broad beans with egg, Moorish-style meat, a great cod in pil pil sauce.

The wine list is more than interesting and the prices are correct. The service, which offers a familiar but very correct treatment, is marvellous, especially at the bar, undoubtedly the favourite place of the faithful parishioners who come to the Mesón Ibérico.
